Why Three Phase Induction Motor Self-Starting?

A 3-phase induction motor is self-starting because the magnetic flux is of rotating nature, and the torque produced is also of rotating nature
because the torque produced in the motor is proportional to the magnetic flux.
Thus, the 3-phase induction motor does not require any external means for its starting.
The rotation of the magnetic field in an induction motor has the advantage that no electrical
connections need to be made to the rotor, which makes it self-starting.
